Hey there, friend! My name is Ashley, and I'm the face behind The Homestead Hermit. I'm so glad you found your way to my little corner of the internet. Let me tell you a bit about myself and my journey to homesteading.

I'm 33 years old and currently live in sunny Central Florida. But I haven't always been here – I've bounced around quite a bit, living in Missouri, California, Nevada, and more. And no matter where I was living, I always felt tired, stressed, and unfulfilled. I was working long hours in jobs that didn't make me happy, and I didn't have any real purpose or passion.

But then, something extraordinary happened. I discovered homesteading.

I started small, growing a few herbs on my kitchen window and learning to make cleaning products. But the more I learned, the more I fell in love with this way of life. There was something incredibly satisfying about caring for myself and my family, producing our own food, and living off the land.

Over time, my homesteading dreams grew more prominent. I started looking for a property where I could have a natural garden, some chickens, and maybe even a few goats. And eventually, I found it. My husband and I bought a small homestead in the country, and we've been building our dream ever since.

Now, I want to share my journey with you. I started The Homestead Hermit – to be a resource for others looking to live a simpler, more sustainable life. On my website, you'll find articles, tutorials, and product reviews on various homesteading topics. Whether you're just starting out or a seasoned pro, I hope you'll find something inspiring here.

One of the things I love most about homesteading is the sense of community. Many Other Homesteaders are doing amazing things, and I've been lucky enough to connect with many of them through my website and social media. If you have questions or want to connect with other like-minded folks, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Of course, homesteading isn't always sunshine and roses. There are plenty of challenges and setbacks along the way. But for me, the rewards are worth it. There's nothing quite like the taste of a freshly harvested tomato or the joy of holding a fuzzy new chick in your hands.

Homesteading has given me a sense of purpose and fulfillment that I never knew was possible.

So if you're considering homesteading, I encourage you to try it. Start small – maybe grow a few herbs on your windowsill, or try making your own bread. And if you get hooked, as I did, don't hesitate to reach out. The Homestead Hermit is here to help you along the way.
